I noticed this might be because Rhythmbox says there are missing files (almost my whole library), and all those do not give any notification. There has been a few songs were a notification has been displayed when they are played, and I believe those do not have this error (Missing files). The odd

Public bug reported: For some reason, Rhythmbox doesn't display any notification when a new song is played, even though it's checked in gconf-editor and in the program itself. Someone seem to only have this issue with Compiz enabled, but for me this is persist even with Metacity.
