Using updated Lucid (as of 04/01/10) the GNOME panel no longer blurs the
desktop background behind it properly. I'm using t
I noticed on an Acer laptop (Ubuntu 8.04 Desktop x86, all normal
updates, Compiz enabled, Intel video chipset) when "Dim screen when
idle" is enabled that the screen will dim when playing these games. A
few of the games affected (because not all are) include LTris, The Mana
World, LBreakout2, and F
The app in question is gdmsetup and it's been a bug since Feisty at
least. I'm still experiencing it on 8.04 Desktop AMD64 on a clean
install with all available updates except the proposed repo. The
