Thank you for your bug report, but this is a feature and not a bug. You
can use $(xdg-user-dir DESKTOP) and $(xdg-user-dir DOCUMENTS) in your
scripts to get the correct directory name. Have a look in ~/.config
/user-dirs.dirs or /etc/xdg/user-dirs.defaults for other possible
values.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or feature. But you can change this
behaviour in about:config, just modify the value of
browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground.

This is not a bug. The calender format is not dependent on the timezone
but on the locale setting. If you want to change this you can create
~/.xsessionrc and set LC_TIME to en_UK.UTF-8 or something. Please ask on
http://ubuntu-se.org/forum or some other forum if you have further

No backtrace available since the program doesn't actually crash (except
when using strace, but forget about that)
I cleared all gconf settings for xchat-gnome and the problem
disappeared. But when I set a background image the problem returns, even
if I disable the use of the background image.

When the settings dialog window is open xchat-gnome and Xorg is using
about 40% CPU each. When I close the settings window everything goes
back to normal. It's not crashing.
