Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty downloaded from the link

I just did an upgrade as apt-get dist-upgrade.
Even when I try to run gedit from the terminal, I'm getting the
following warnings/errors in the terminal -

After installing Ubuntu (Latest), I logged in. Gnome-panel started and
dis-appeared in few seconds. It started blinking before disappearing.
Here is the error message:
