Followed the advice of Jackfritt at https://github.com/libimobiledevice/libimobiledevice/issues/903 I had to additionally do the same for usbmuxd: sudo apt-get install git clone https://github.com/libimobiledevice/usbmuxd.git ./autogen.sh make sudo make install then reboot. Verified for
