[Bug 733407] [NEW] backlight control not working on VAIO CW2C5E

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager Ubuntu can't control backlight on my laptop. This happened also in 10.04 and 10.10 and I had to fix this using nvidia_bl driver (and it took quite a lot of time to set the correct parameters. Other function keys work properly.

I have this kind of problem on a Sony VAIO CW2C5E (nVidia 310M). The only way to control screen backlight is using nvidiabl module from https://github.com/guillaumezin/nvidiabl I can see gnome power monitor correctly interfaces with backlight module because changing settings in gconf works.
