I can reproduce this when using dual monitors and the AMD catalyst (fglrx)
drivers on my ATI Radeon HD 4770 card as well on my ATI Radeon HD 7550 card.
In Catalyst Control Center, instead of enabling Multi display desktop with
2 displays, set it to Single iDisplay Desktop (Multi-Desktop) and

I have the same issue using an ATI card and flgrx as opposed to nvidia.
I'm not used to patching things so I am wary of trying that and risking
ruining something. I hope it will be fixed soon...

Same problem here... good grief how long has this been going on with no
solution?
I tried each of the fixes listed above, but none of them worked for me.
I have to agree with the above sentiments that this is exactly the type
of thing that causes people to give up on Ubuntu and stick with Windows
How can I apply the fix in Alexia Death's commit? I'd like to get this
working but I don't know how to use the information on that page.
