New around here and to Ubuntu or I would have commented earlier on this one before it was closed. This still occurs as described on edgy 6.10 with all latest patches. As reference, this does not occur on either my openSUSE 10.2 or Fedora 6 installations. Thanks! ** Changed in: gnome-panel

Yes. I stack two panels across the top of the screen as per attachment (panels are transparent). I have tried various tests to try and identify the cause from a user perspective. Removing applets in various combinations, etc. When I stack both at the bottom of the screen I see similar results.
