Despite the Fix Released status I can confirm that this bug is not fixed
in Ubuntu 14.04, most probably because vte 0.35 implements this feature
while Ubuntu 14.04 has only 0.34.

The proposed package is definitely an improvement. Now I can cycle
through my usual layouts instead of only En and En2 which was the case
before. As per comment #14, tagging as verification-done.

After all the proposed packages work fine here.
I've installed them on 2 laptops and a desktop (all suffering from this issue )
and been using them for a week. I started up these hosts several times a day
and for the sake of testing I also rebooted them a couple of times every day

This is caused by Google adding support for the URL vCard
field, which telepathy-gabble doesn't think is supported or exists.
I attached the links to the freedesktop and debian bug.
This is fixed in telepathy itself by this commit:

I reinstalled the proposed plymouth/lightdm packages, confirmed that I have the
unmodified files from both packages.
I rebooted my desktop 30 times in a row, not a single failure. If I happen to
experience the issue again I'll report back.

The proposed version of lightdm/plymouth did not fix the issue for me. Lightdm
sometimes fails to start, see Xorg log attached.
For now I had to put back the and stopped udevtrigger workaround into
/etc/init/lightdm.conf. With that lightdm never failed to start for me.

With the proposed version:
100mm2 is converted to 1cm2 -- OK
400cm2 is shown as 0,04m2 -- OK
but
40cm2 is shown as 0m2 instead of 0,004 -- is rounding to two digits expected?

I just checked the sources and there's really no difference compared to
the previous version other than the conversion rule update. The
conversion is indeed correct so the proposed version resolves this bug.

I can second Dmitry that other icons are also missing, e.g. Disk

I updated to the version in proposed and tried to activate the Subtitle
Downloader plugin but I am still getting the stacktrace:
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gobject/constants.py:24: Warning:
g_boxed_type_register_static: assertion `g_type_from_name (name) == 0' failed
import
I have just installed Oneiric into a virtual machine and tested the
plugins _without_ having the proposed repository enabled. As expected,
D-Bus Service, Jamenod, Python Console and Subtitle Dowloader failed.
Then I enabled the proposed repository, upgraded the totem package and
checked again:
D-Bus Service, Jamendo and Python Console can be enabled on my laptop
and they remain enabled after restarting Totem. I checked the python
console and it works (did not know how to check the other two plugins
but there's nor warning or error on the console).
The issue is with the subtitle editor
Finally the shortcuts work without delay on my fully updated Ubuntu
10.04. I first noticed this issue with Karmic, then with Lucid and with
the nautilus package in the proposed repository it is gone.

I was able to reproduce it on a fully updated Lucid install (gnome-utils

I had to add --sync to all gnome-screenshot commands in gconf-editor in order
