You are saying that jockey should be used to determine availability of

No, that's what it does now.
But better is not objective here.
The radeon driver may be inferior to the fglrx in terms of 3D games but it's
the only one that suspends/hibernates for me.
So jockey
in order to find out which driver is currently being used, whether it
supports composite, and whether a new one is needed (currently for
nvidia), jockey needs to run, of course.
Jockey can be used detect the driver in use for all I care but I can not
believe this is taking 9 seconds (just
jcinacio provided a patch.
It's simply a matter of changing the proper values in the glade file.

I just enabled the proposed repository and updated ONLY Jockey (jockey-
common and jockey-gtk) as there was no update available for gnome-
control-center.
Thus, I can confirm the update solved the issue in Jockey (it doesn't

I just noticed a funny thing: when I boot into Ubuntu without Compiz
enabled, I have the scaled black pictures.
But when I start Compiz, the issue is gone. And if I stop Compiz again,

Compiz worked OOTB during and after the install.
After I disabled it in gnome-appearance-properties, I can't turn it back on.
It does work when running it via the terminal, though:

But you are right, now that I changed the default language in the
language selector, GDM is in english as well.
I'm pretty sure this used to work in Gutsy, though. So the bug is rather

As you can see in the screenshot, it was german before and now it's
english.
I made the installation in german, then I changed the system's default
language to english in GDM.
I also changed the default language in the language selector, rebootet
and it's still the same. Everything is english

rebooted and still no prompt to update the personal folders.
But the system's language is still english anyway. That may be another
bug. GDM is in french now.

I changed the changed the default language in the language selector to
french now and GDM is french. Then I changed the default language in GDM
to english and it's still set to french in the language selector.

I can confirm this issue (fresh Alpha6 install, up-to-date now):

The problem with this is that you can not turn of Compiz via the Visual Effects
tab, if you are just using ccsm.
Because if you want to turn them back on, there's no way to get them back the
way they were.
You are forcing users to install simple-ccsm even if they don't want to
use it.

As of today's updates, the multiple documents listings is gone.
Now only the Desktop entry is repeated.
I can confirm this on a fresh beta install with all available updates.
Removing the Desktop entry from ~/.gtk-bookmarks fixes this.

Session Saver plugin
Hi,
thanks for taking care of the bug but unfortunately the fix isn't right.
I changed the line like mentioned in the link to GNOME's bugzilla but the
folder ~/.gnome2/gedit/plugins doesn't get created.
So the saved-sessions.xml file shows up in ~/.gnome2/gedit
And although it works now
