*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 746581 ***

As I wasn't sure you would react, I couldn 't give you more information.
If usefull I will give you the end results:

As I told the installation crashed when trying to install ubuntu manually on a
customdefinned partition.
In this Case an 80 GIB partition, divided in 2 parts of each 39,50 GIB.
I had previouslly installed Ubuntu on 1 part and OpenSuSe on the other part.
As so long I only had Ubuntu the boot process went fine and the multy boot menu
with Windows 7 worked fine to.
After installing OpenSuSe neither the boot process did work neither the menu
(of course ).
Using the old fashion Windows XP way, using it's CD, I could do the FIXMBR and
later
with Windows 7 Repair boot process. As so far it was OK.
But as soon I did try to reinstall Ubuntu, to be able to have the Multy boot
menu.
I did recieve the errors, as you mentioned a bug #746581.
Even when rebooting with the Ubuntu CD.
Manually defining a partition seemed impossible. It always ascked for root
files ???
But the sollution came when using the option installing Ubuntu alongside with
other
operating systems. You could choose the partition used with OpenSuSe, but not
the one intended
for Ubuntu. I took the risck and it worked. It did shortend the OpeSuse
partition and
it took for it self +/- 21 GIB for it self (Ext-, Swap- and its own partition.
After rebooting I recieved a fine and nicelly working surprise, partlly
unexpected.
The boot menu was fixed, it included the 4 Ubuntu start ups, the Windows 7
start up
and (this I didn 't expected ) 2 OpenSuSe startups.
I tested them all and they all worked fine.
An information I left behind is the fact I already had via Windows 7 a multy
boot
With Windows XP, Windows Vista and of course Windows 7.
All these options work fine each on its own.
I will continue to check/work both Linux versions, having been working and
checking
Windows for a long time. Linus is my new chalange.

Greetings,

Reinier Verly
