After getting this error, my desktop looked like an odd mix of Unity and KDE...I logged out and logged back in, and things seem to have resolved, so possibly just a one time upgrade issue. Given this error is reported a bazillion times and this wasn't a serious issue, I'm closing this bug. **

Seems that 'cheese' is causing this, as if I unload and load the uvcvideo stack with: $ sudo modprobe -r uvcvideo $ sudo modprobe uvcvideo both ekiga and luvcvideo work. If I start 'cheese', nothing works (except Skype) until I do another unload/load cycle. -- gstreamer-based apps
