I have a similar problem. Segfaults seem to occur mostly when creating thumbnails for media files. Nautilus will also not display some pictures or videos as files, but will instead display the loading icon in the top corner as though loading the files in the folder. Killing and restarting nautilus or the computer or deleting the thumbnail cache is the only way to fix this display problem. Segfault error message: nautilus[7937]: segfault at c ip 0811ac21 sp bf91d910 error 4 in nautilus[8048000+18f000] I am running Karmic 32bit kernel 2.6.31-14-generic-pae, but experienced this bug in Jaunty as well.
