Similar issue where screensaver hangs machine when running for a while.
11.04 with INTEL GMA4500 chipset. Some screensavers also seem sluggish
as mentioned by others. CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE to restart X solves the
problem, but a bit drastic as a sustainable fix :-)

F-spot cannot connect to Canon A70 camera when Nautilus is set to automatically
open F-spot
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: f-spot
My Canon A70 would not connect in F-spot to allow import and gave an
error (Bad parameters) when plugged into the computer. I changed my
Nautilus configuration so instead of automatically opening F-spot,
Nautilus would ask me what I wanted to do
Apologies but I've read through and not sure if this fix will be released for
Jaunty or whether we should apply the patch in the thread. Please can you
confirm.
Thanks,
Russ.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: rhythmbox
Using the search dialog in Rhythmbox results in very slow response (sometimes
complete hang), and 100% CPU utilisation. I have approx 9000 tracks (60GB) of
mp3 registered.
The problem is the same whether you search by All, Artists or Albums.
Machine is Sempron 3000+, 2GB RAM, generally runs at a decent speed.
Takes 30s - many minutes to return from search.

Russ.

I have this issue (8.04). I did not have it in previous releases 7.10, 7.04.
CPU goes very high.
Very noticable with dirs of 1000+ entries.
Affects Rhythmbox, Firefox and Nautilus to a lesser extent.
Please re-open and fix. This is a serious issue.
Is it related to the 25 year old BSD bug?
Regarding the previous post- Perhaps I am writing junk- rereading this bug
suggests that this issue is from way back and probably completely unrelated
to the BSD link I added.
Nevertheless the issue remains on Hardy for me.
Cheers,
Russ.
