I'm using the 64bit flash alpha plugin and Im having this isse since I
installed Kubuntu 9.10. When I was using Kubuntu 9.04 with 64bit flash
plugin this bug never occured to me. So this seems like a regression.

Actually, the example you gave in your attachment is about issues with
text subtitles, but this bug report is about issues with vobsub
subtitltes (a format where the subtitles are stored as images).

Unfortunately, I have no legal example *cough*
Anyway, I believe you can reporduce the bug with any video which is
supplied with subititles in vobsub format.

Actually, I experienced this with totem-gstreamer.
btw: I think it's a freeze. When I try to open the
video with totem, totem opens but the videos doesn't play and also I
cannot close totem anymore.

I have an XviD encoded video in an avi container. The video is suplied with
vobsub subtitles.
When I try to play the video, totem crashes. When playing the video without the
subtitles it works just fine.
note: vobsub subtitles is subtitle format, where the subtitles are
