Half of this problem persists in 2.32.1 and 2.32.2 - the confusion
between dd/mm/yy and mm/dd/yy remains but the crashes are fixed.

I attempted to follow the instructions in

evolution version 2.27.5-0ubuntu1
I would expect Evolution to follow the locale preferences for displaying
the date in the Calendar/Tasks view (as it did in 2.26).
