Yes this bug is reproducible, which I had attempted to make that clear in the original bug report. The following is more explicit. This bug occurs when Ubuntu is being run live from an i386 distribution CD: 7.10, 8.04, 8.04.2, 8.10, or 9.04 beta - the kind one burns from the isos available
