Still having this in Ubuntu 20.10. The cursor size is normal in Chrome
but all the apps like Nautilus makes it small.

Looks like it's something wrong with my
~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list config. After removing it I
am able to change associations back and forth.
Attaching my old broken mimeapps.list.

I managed to break it again.
Here are the steps:
1. Delete ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list.
2. Set VLC as default player for .avi files through nautilus.
3. Goto System Settings - Details - Default applications and set VLC player
to open video files.

I am on Ubuntu 13.10 using nautilus 1:3.8.2-0ubuntu2.2.
I am trying to change default application to open .avi files. I right-
click an .avi file select Properties, go to Open With. There is a
default application there (banshee) and recommended (VLC media player).

Also confirm Andreas' workaround works for me with Russian (kbd (m17))
layout. Language icon is extremely ugly though.

Agree with kolen. I can't switch layout on guake because it autohides
and some important shortcuts in sublime text are blocked.

Also, if alt+shift is set to switch layout then alt+shift+up
and alt+shift+down shortcuts don't work in sublime text 3. After
removing keyboard-indicator everything returned back to normal.
