Kim,
First try this:
Install gnome-tweak-tool (should pull in gnome-tweaks)
Than in the gui:
Tweak tool >> Typing >> Modifiers of input sources switch >> Alt shift.
First time, I was able to bypass this bug by installing Unity desktop

After upgrading to Ubuntu 17.04 I noticed that dragging an icon from Desktop

In both cases the image under cursor, which represents the icon being

Jar files do have 0xcafe at offset 40 displayed as fe ca at offset
0x28 in a hex viewer. Here is the link to the code that writes this
JAR_MAGIC number:

KDE always associates *.jar with the zip mime type
I solve this problem by adding the info about my layouts in the
/etc/default/console-setup
# The following variables describe your keyboard and can have the same
# values as the XkbModel, XkbLayout, XkbVariant and XkbOptions options
# in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
XKBMODEL=precision_m
XKBLAYOUT=us,ua,ru
I confirm the very same bug. It always happens when I plug-out/plug-in a
USB keyboard, and sometimes it happens without any obvious reason.
