See my comment ( #2 ). I was able to fix it by manually rearranging the
icons. Problem hasn't cropped up in 10.04 (what I'm using now, and have
been using since it came out). This bug can be closed or resolved or
whatever (I can't do that).

I completely agree with you Samus Aran. Running old software on linux is
a pain. There is no binary compatibility, there is a theorical source
compatibility, but it never compile easily. Because a lot of linux geeks
forget about the fact that old software can be GOOD software ! Compare
it with wind

Now I find the UI very ugly, too wide, unresizable, and
yes I did. I customized my box because there are a lot of components
(installed by the metapackage ubuntu-desktop) I never use. Anyway I was
able to remove libgnomevfs2-extra with gnome-applets still installed.
However, this seems not to be good and libgnomevfs2-extra should be a
needed package for
