of course, those from Gnome had to do something stupid on v3.x ...
on Gnome v2.x everything was specified in MB ... because when you
download something the value is specified in MB and not in M, so there
comes the confusion ...
there's a reason i hate gnome3 ...

"safely remove drive" it says writing data to "device name"

i'm guessing he tries first with utf8 but doesn't try again with Western
so i have to manually set it from the dropdown menu in
