Using gconf-editor, the entry for /desktop/gnome/thumbnailers/applicat...@pdf has no keys. This is also true for any other thumbnailer for pdf, postscript, or dvi. These file- types are also not creating thumnails for me. Is the lack of gconf keys the problem? I'm using an up to date Karmic

Some of it may be due to compiz. If I'm using compiz I initially see some flashing blocks and a white screen during the first transition. From there it seems okay. If I turn off compiz the flashing blocks disappear but I still have the white screen during the first transition. -- f-spot

Hi Pedro, I've tried many gnome applications including some that are python/gnome apps. I also tried starting an app with sudo. Its also the same all the variations of the file chooser such as one's with image previews and the one that give a very limited selection until you open the browser
