What you can't do with expose but with workplace switcher is for example drag an image from a firefox window, hover over a different workspace in the switcher. This switches workspace to the application that is waiting for the dragged input image. -- Can't drag a window to another workspace

IMO the switcher should be like a mini 'expo' when in compiz mode, and classic style when in metacity. 2009/5/6 wdesmet krom...@gmail.com @paul beardsell: that sets the window manager back to metacity instead of compiz which is why it works again. The 'about' option on the workspace
