I also experience some delays (about 2 s) with Jaunty (fresh install
however I kept my previous home directory for the config files). I
didn't had this problem with Intrepid (Ekiga v2). I am not sure whether
it's my sound program or Ekiga that is responsible for this issue.

I think this could be related to this bug
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351966 regarding the use of
images in keys not working with older servers like the mit one. I
removed the image from my key and it's working for me now.
