Binary package hint: rhythmbox
After upgrade to Lucid Lynx(beta) I wasn't able to start Rhythmbox,
meaning it starts and after a second or so my X session gets destroyed.

Looks like powernowd has two parts. Kernel module(s) and the client
daemon or whatever. If apt-get removal doesn't help you - your problem
is kernel modules. Oops. I have similar case with some of the kernel
modules, computer hangs when playing video and the problem is one of the
kernel
Okay, so far i haven't seen the slowdown since disabled the logging in
ipfilters.

i guess i had it in feisty, now having it in gutsy. most probably the trouble
is my quite old xorg.conf file.
