They should write a completely new and lightweight monitor, something like
windows 8 has done.

i can confirm this.
also system monitors cpu usage is too high in general. it should be made much
lighter and faster so when your computer is unresponsive (high disk activity)
you don't have to wait 30+ seconds for it to start up so you can kill a process.
