I agree with David. resize shall be theme-independent, maybe even
border-width independent. And with my Acer 6920G it's a so painful
issue! Imagine a 1920x1080 f-hd resolution in 16 inches... i can only
use workarounds to resize windows without swearing!!!

Resizing windows by grabbing window
and i also agree with @latimerio:
this bug is a huge usability issue. and we all know Ubuntu's interest in
usability.

Moreover, I do appreciate irony, but kidding apart, how can a bug like this be
'low' priority?
According to 'medium' priority definition in launchpad:
The bug is an inconvenience for MANY users. The feature provides new ways
of completing tasks.[...]
Furthermore, IMHO a bug preventing any
how can a medium severity bug be OPEN for 4 years... 4 years is
long...

It affects me too... anyway brightness/ACPI stopped working even before jaunty,
from 2.6.27-11 generic release.
(see bug #356992: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/356992).

Brightness Hotkeys not working in 9.04, working fine in 8.10 - acer 6920g
As an example I can report sunbird, which replaced (along with
Thunderbird) Evolution in my system. This calendar system works well and
implements for notifications the same behaviour I theorized in the
previous comment.

Evolution alarm notification does not persist after snooze and reboot
yes, it is an issue and not a blocker, but at the same time for people who use
Evolution for productivity and at work (like me) it is a remarkable bug.
Calendars and appointment management are not a secondary feature in Evolution.
I mean, as far as I'm concerned, I had to migrate to Outlook and
I am expecting the most intuitive reminder behavior in presence of
alarms and alarm snooze function.
IDEAL BEHAVIOR: If a user chooses the option Display again in N
minutes and the PC is switched off, *ideally* PC should switch on once
N minutes are elapsed and should show again the notification
Yes, I got it... but at the same time it doesn't seem to me a secondary
issue. I mean, someone (like me) could really lose meetings because of
this issue and decide to migrate even if the software itself is well
done and mature...
