David - believe I just corrected it. However the darn system asked me to
continue translating 2000 other cities :-o Hope it can wait a bit with
them!

Hi Amanda - I am getting the same issue on one of our machines. I
suspected it might be related to this machine starting up and logging in
without the use of a password.

I have followed the instruction / work-around from revoltism and it
worked. I run US ubuntu, so it is hardly related to the utf-8, and the
folder I had it in was also the download folder. I moved the folder to
my user home folder and after having formated the stick to ext3 it
worked!

I have the same issue on 9.10. Sometimes it is missing the gnome panel.
When I restart it normally is back there, but the system will complain
that the gnome panel is not responding, are you sure you want to
reboot?
I would suspect this to be linked to compiz or 3d effects?
