after update I tried to do su in the GNOME Terminal (3.24.2) to run a filemanager as root and got a message : "marcia@marcia-HP-Pavilion-g7-Notebook-PC:~$ su Password: su: Authentication failure" got the same Authentication failure message after the update today 9/15/20017. sudo works fine. sudo worked fine before the update on both machines. I am going to get todays daily build nd reinstall Ubuntu 17.10 daily and see if it still has this problem. ** Changed in: gnome-terminal (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/29355 Title: Can not sign on as su To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/29355/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
