Unfortunately there is no .crash file in /var/crash
Here's the output of /var/log/syslog during the reproduced bug:

Just home encryption, not full system.
No proprietary driver.

Regarding encryptfs bug: yes I also thought so...

step3: choosing tool (e.g. pencil)
step4: applying pencil to image
step5: crash (login window appears)

I appear to have the same problem.
When running Brasero to burn a DVD, I get the eject error as described by
walterav and even though Brasero says burning has completed 100% the DVD is not
readable, it doesn't even show up at all when inserted (on the same machine,
not tested on others).
