Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor
System Monitor graphs CPU, RAM, and Network utilization, but its File
Systems tab only shows space used, not I/O (requests/sec, KB/sec, etc).
Please make it so System Monitor will display Disk I/O (blocks/KB
read/written per device)

I've disabled pulseaudio because it has huge problems working with
VirtualBox and gone back to ALSA.
Is there an applet equivalent in the Karmic repos to provide volume
control using ALSA? I'm currently using gnome-alsamixer but it's big

The same pdf rendered neatly in xpdf.
The difference is more pronounced when zoomed in and when you're trying
to read equations. I like evince because its fast-loading and I just
wish it wouldnt do this with the old PRL pdfs that I have to read
frequently.

It is reproducible with certain pdfs. I've attached an old PRL article
that renders badly everytime I open it in Evince.
I will upload screenshots of how it appears in Evince and Xpdf in
subsequent comments.
This bad rendering has happened on Gutsy and Hardy too as far as I
remember. I'm using an

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: evince
Some pdf files (such as those of old PRL journal articles from the 80s)
have badly rendered fonts that make the file illegible. The same files
render perfectly in xpdf.

Just to confirm that this issue (and the other unrelated issue I had
afterwards) were solved by gstreamer-plugins-base 0.10.25.1-1.fc12 (Nov.
11 build) and exaile 0.3.0.1-1.fc11. Both packages are upstream for
Fedora 11, currently, so they just need to make it down to the stable
branches.
