I just ran into this problem, but in my case the PS file that caused it
is actually corrupted and cannot be read by any reader I know of. Of
course, the thumbnailer should never freeze the CPU at 100%, not even if
the file is bad.
I can provide the file by email, if anyone would like it. I just

drx: A workaround for that is to set Compiz's Scale to activate on the

something at least :) . Since it works with screen corners, though, I

Pedro, as I wrote on my previous comment, on Jaunty it seems that
Nautilus redirects any ~/.gvfs/hostname address to sftp://hostname;,
which bypasses the 0 bytes problem but creates other issues. Maybe I
should just create a new bug report for the new issues...

[Intrepid] Connecting to SSH
I'm having the same problem. It seems that Nautilus now tries to work
around this issue by redirecting you to the sftp://hostname; equivalent
of the ~/.gvfs/sftp on hostname address.
For example:
1) connect to some ssh server on Nautilus
2) type ~/.gvfs/sftp on hostname on the location bar
3)

I have this problem with GVFS 0.2.5-0ubuntu2 in both gvfs-mount and
Nautilus. It seems to be due to an offending RSA key, as shown below:
When I logged in through the terminal with SSH, I got the following
message:
Warning: the RSA host key for 'X' differs from the key for the IP
Since enough people seem to still have this problem, shouldn't this be
changed back from fix released to confirmed ?

Apparently, my issue with the mail-notification applet was due to what
Sebastian said above: my splash screen was too small for all its icons.
I just changed it to a larger one and everything works quite peachy!

gnome-session: malloc() memory corruption

Just an fyi:
I looked it up online before posting, and i have to agree with you that it's
not a common error. I couldn't find anything on google.
It doesn't matter which screensaver i use, though. It happens with all
of then. That is, until i fixed the gconf entry as stated earlier.

Well, here's how it turned out: due to a few other issues I was having I
just decided to rename my home folder and reinstall feisty. After that,
I moved all my files back and most of my hidden config directories. I
*did not* move .gconf, .gnome, and .gnome2 back. At that point,
everything worked
Ok, this is solved for me, but I'm not sure what did it. Browsing the
Ubuntu forums I found the problem may be a permissions issue. They
mentioned it could be the permissions/user/group on the .ICEauthority
file, but I don't think that was the case for me. I even deleted the

I've been getting the same error here after a clean feisty install.
Well, the install was not *entirely* clean since I kept my home

hmmm... apparently if i start a failsafe terminal session then run

everything seems to work fine.
