I had the same problem with Evolution in 8.10, 9.04 and 9.10! The problem only occurs when I have trouble with in Internet connection during an e-mail download.
Please escalate priority the priority of this but to URGENT... Businesses depend on Evolution. I have limited bandwidth and this sometimes occurs once a day. It becomes serious if you are using all your bandwith to re-download all your e-mails on a regular basis. It is especially disrupting when you are expecting an urgent business e-mail and have to wait hours for Evolution to get to the last e-mail. I have not yet found a way to prevent or overcome this problem.
