/bin/ping ping -b -n www.bbc.co.uk
5 requests says:
An error occurred when try

This is working fine in 13.04. Can you try a newer version? Also what
version of gnome-nettools is this to begin with? Run dpkg -l | grep
gnome-nettool to find out.
