Public bug reported:

After applying today' s updates, Feisty now complains everytime I try to
add an alternate keyboard layout.

Steps to reproduce:
- Add Keyboard Indicator applet to a panel
- Right click on applet, choose Keyboard preferences.
- Go to "Layouts" tab, click the " + ADD" button and try adding a keyboard
layout
- The following message appears:

Unable to start the settings manager 'gnome-settings-daemon'.
Without the GNOME settings manager running, some preferences may not take
effect. This could indicate a problem with Bonobo, or a non-GNOME (e.g. KDE)
settings manager may already be active and conflicting with the GNOME settings
manager.

After that everytime you try to access the Keyboard preferences from the
applet reproduces the message.
