If you're only using your Online Accounts for Empathy integration, try removing the following 4 packages: evolution-data-server, evolution- data-server-online-accounts, gnome-contacts, and libfolks-eds25. Removing these packages seems to have fixed my login issues without any further need for

I'm affected by this problem. My account is not new, and I do not use two-factor authentication. The only workaround I've found is to reboot and hope it works next time, or remove and readd my account in Online Accounts (and repeat when the problem happens again two or three reboots later). --
