Till Ubuntu 12.04 I wasn't facing any problem in using Tab key for
finding possible files in case of jar or cat command.
(e.g)
* jar -uf ~/java_memcached-release_2.6.6.jar com/danga/MemCached/MemC<tab> not
listing "MemCachedClient.class"
* cvs -d `cat <tag>` not showing any possibilities
