I changed the refresh from 85hz to 60hz. Opened totem in full screen and
it changes the refresh back to 85hz. I am using Gutsy with gstreamer
library.

[gutsy] Totem fullscreen changes
I have the same problem with totem-xine, I use 1280x1024 and 75Hz but
when I go fullscreen it changes to 60Hz. I didn't notice this bug until
I started running Gusty too.

I can also confirm this bug. I have had this EXACT same problem
(switching to 60hz) with BOTH gstreamer and xine versions of Totem. I
am currently using Totem 2.20.0, with the latest gstreamer 0.10.14, and
the nvidia Ubuntu restricted driver (with the latest Compiz enabled). I
didn't notice
I confirm this bug, using totem 2.20 with gstreamer 0.10.14.
Refresh rate allways switches to 60hz on fullscreen toggle (moreover 60hz is
broken for me due to some bug with xorg intel drivers: the display is squashed
to the right 3/4 of the screen at 60hz, producing a distorted image; works fine
The same bug is also present in totem-xine (perhaps this means it is not
related to the engine but to totem itself?). Refresh switches to 60hz
By the way, I'm using xserver-xorg-video-intel driver, on an intel g965
(GMA X3000) graphics chipset. The screen is set at 1440x900.

When i enabled Compiz Fusion, and went into fullscreen in Totem, the display
crashed.
I heard the movie play, but the screen just froze.

I have run into similar problems (using totem-gstreamer 2.20.0-0ubuntu1
on Gutsy/AMD64).
I have a dual monitor setup configured using xrandr. When switching to
fullscreen mode in totem, the output to my secondary monitor was disabled.
When exiting fullscreen mode, the second monitor remained
Thank you for your bug. Do you have totem-gstreamer or totem-xine? What
videocard and driver do you use? Did you build your own binaries?
