Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit
In Gutsy: It would be nice to open two editor windows side by side. However, there is no apparent way to do this with gedit. Each time you try to launch the program it opens up a new blank tab. In previous versions of Ubuntu if you switched to a different virtual desktop you could open a second editor window, then drag it over to the desktop to have two side-by-side windows. At the moment there is no work around that I can find, except to use a different editor when comparing documents side-by-side. ** Affects: gedit (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Status: New -- Cannot open multiple gedit windows at once https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/141589 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gedit in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
