Well, I can confirm the same behavior on x86_64 with hardy as well.

Though I dont mean to be critical, but the overall situation about this

I use Xgl on an Acer Aspire 5100-5023 laptop:
AMD Turion64 x2 TL-56 (1.6GHz)
ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 (256MB shared memory)
2GB DRR2 RAM
etc.

Confirming here. I just switched over from 32-bit to 64-bit, used XGL in
both cases. This is the sole outstanding bug for 64-bit I've experienced
since the change. I'm using an ATI Radeon Mobility X1600 (128MB) with
1GB of RAM.

I would have to agree. Also, more specifically it looks like an XGL +
x64 bug as that is my setup and I see the same bug. That or perhaps it
has something to do with the proprietary bundle of joy that is the ATI
drivers... The ones that also break suspend and hibernate.
