if you're afraid of that little grey thing next to invest icon, I can tell you
that it has been removed.
Next version will bring a major UI redesign, check out svn, gnome's bugzilla.

Thanks for your reply. Matteo, looks like from my web search that you're in
the Bologna Italy area and responsible for the Invest applet upgrades. I'm
still a relative newbie, learning Ubuntu on my own for about 9 months now.

I discovered few days ago I can display applet properties by
right-clicking on the right of the icon applet (not on the 'V' button)!
However I confirm right click or middle click on the applet icon have
not effect.

I like this little thing, but it took me a while trying to figure it

nothing, and neither did double-clicking. Right clicking gave a menu,
but no help. finally figured out how to enter GOOG, and left it at that.

So. Launchpad wants me to subscribe to this existing bug for my apport-
generated report of this with Hardy - but the bug is marked as invalid
for some reason I can't discern. Should I change the status of the
report or file a new one?

You could try reproducing this bug by disconnecting the network and
then try refreshing the Investment Applet with the network down.

But right click on this have no effect. I'm unable to add or edit values.

thanks jasbur, but dealing with crash files manually attached to the
reports is a lot of extra work for the team, could you use apport to
send your bug? You just have to go to /var/crash using nautilus and
double click on that crash file, and probably isn't the same bug as this
one. thanks.
