Public bug reported: The UI to change the login session only appears on the gdm password screen (via the cogwheel icon that appears next to the login button). If you have a user with no password, this screen is bypassed, thus meaning that they can't change their login session type.
To reproduce: * create a user with no password (e.g. with passwd -d). * start gdm. * select their user from the list. * watch as they are logged in without seeing the password screen. This was seen on a recent Arch Linux, if that helps at all. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1693360 Title: Users with no bug cannot change login session in gdm To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm/+bug/1693360/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
