I can confirm this bug in both fresh hardy and intrepid installation.
How to reproduce :
1) Install a fresh hardy or intrepid system
2) Go in gdmsetup and choose the Human List theme
3) Click on close
4) Go back in gdmsetup
Expected results:
Human List is selected
Actual results:
Random

I've just a made a fresh Gutsy install on another PC, changed the theme
to Human List and the problem happened. It seems that it changes to
random mode and the themes Circles and Happy GNOME ar the defualt for
this option.

I think it happens when the configuration file is first changed, or
created, don't know how it's stored . The steps are the same above.
