I'm not very sure if I followed all the steps right, but here it is. By the way, the gdb is a bit tricky to use, even following the step-by- step wiki. Hope it helps. P.S.: This time only the blank window appeared. ** Attachment added: gdb log for Nautilus.

It seems that, although it didn't show any sign of having written the screenshot file to the desktop, it did write it. I'm attaching it here. ** Attachment added: Screenshot of the blank window http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10848918/Pantallazo.png -- Nautilus locked after playing a mp3 file

Have just happened again. This time I was able to capture the icon- switch issue, and this time the blank window stating that some folder couldn't be opened was a lot different. Here are screenshots of both. ** Attachment added: Screenshot of error window

Also, I tried to skip rebooting my PC, by restarting just the x-windows (using ctrl + alt + backspace), but the login textbox did not show up. It just showed the plain Ubuntu beige on the whole screen. ** Attachment added: Screenshot of switched icon for MP3 file
