Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gedit

I've been editing files over ssh using gedit, and last night I lost
connection as saving. Gedit became unresponsive and I had to force quit,
causing the file to be empty when I reopened it. This is a nightmare for
a developer, and luckily I didn't have all of my work in the file that
was lost. Today I tried to save it, and it again became unresponsive (I
don't think I lost connection this time). I went in to make sure the
file was still there using ssh on the terminal and made a backup before
force quitting.

The problem may be in gnome-vfs, because nautilus can become
unresponsive while using ssh.

I'm using Ubuntu Gutsy, GEdit version 2.20.3, and a router that probably
needs to be replaced.
