Public bug reported: Binary package hint: metacity
Steps to reproduce: I have Hardy Studio running on an Acer Ferrari 64, but I installed 32-bit code to run WINE applications. I updated to the new kernel, 24, and now I have a number of serious errors, I believe all related to the interaction between the kernel and the window manager. (1) Firefox hangs often and then crashes. (2) Openoffice writer hangs. (3) The icons in the upper right that denote running programs do not load. The error message I got when trying to load Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9.0 with WINE was: Window Manager Warning: Invalid WM_TRANSIENT_FOR window 0x2e00003 specified for 0x2e00005 (DragonBar) (4) All programs seem to take longer to install and run. ** Affects: metacity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- window manager crash & nonload programs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185629 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for metacity in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
