Changing the theme in appearance it looks like the cursor now see also
on Kate

When I open Gedit the blinking cursor is not visible, it does not appear
even when writing and therefore it becomes difficult to correct
misspelled words.

Linux
I wrote the word "test" twice, and then I clicked twice with the left arrow,
positioning the writing point after the "o".
The cursor has never been visible.
