when i follow the instructions on gutsy amd64 i get a file which i can
open with EOG.
on hardy powerpc i get a file which EOG can't read. instead i get

Aborted (core dumped)
it does not trigger apport
I am here on ubuntu powerpc.

Thanks, i cannot confirm this, that works fine here, probably it's only
reproducible in powerpc.
