I am running Intrepid with all updates as of nov 11
Process to achieve issue:
Right-click on mpeg of around 650 megs in size
Result:
Window fails to respond and has to be force-quit
Let me know what I could do to get more detail - commands to run etc ?

You could try with a live CD - Dapper was released some weeks ago as
well.
