I have run the /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd -r command in terminal just after login, but
it displayed nothing.
And I found /boot/grub/device.map file was shown as below.
(hd0) /dev/hda
(hd1) /dev/sda
So I change it to (hd0)/dev/sdb, and it seems open computer folder
fast. And I didn't
could you change it back to the other value and note if you get the bug
again? the recent upgrades might have fixed the issue too

I encountered the same issue!!! And my computer has two harddisk, one is IDE
disk(hda in Gusty, but it changed to sdb after upgrade to Hardy), another is
SDA.
So I modified the fstab and mtab files. The computer folder can be opened. But
after I do some operations after boot, such as deluge
Those comment indicate that you run it while a gvfsd-computer is already
running, could you do that directly after login before trying to browse
computer? Could you also run /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd -r and copy to a
comment where is displayed there when trying to list the computer
content

Hardy from a fresh installation. like mannheim said. Inserting or mounting
something brings back the computer:// location.

computer on a command line and then try to open the computer location
and copy to a comment what is written on the command line? Does gvfs-ls
computer: works correctly?

When i run the /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd-computer it displays:

Now after i connected my usb drive, and trying to open Computer it

Now this is the case: when i disconnect my usb drive, then after a while
i empty the trash then the problem returns again until i connect my usb
drive once again.

This happens to me as well (with hardy 8.04 updated on March 26). This
was a system upgraded from gutsy.
Opening the computer location in Nautilus works for a while. But after
a while, it just stalls, as described. Changing *anything* seems to fix
it temporarily: eg, inserting a CD in the drive,
